Zaltbommel, the town where Fiep was born, honoured her with a sculpture of Jip and Janneke, made by Ton Koops. Jip has Takkie on a lead and Janneke is holding on tightly to
Poppejans.
The people of Zaltbommel are proud of their Fiep, and Fiep always loved to
visit her old friends and to look down the Waalkade where the sculpture stood, right on the
intersection with the Korte Steigerstraat where Fiep had lived as a child.
